In ancient times Sauze di Cesana belonged to the french and after the Utrecht treaty of the 1713 fell to the House of Savoy.
In the St.Restituto church were found many objects, as the font which represents the symbol of the foreign patronage.
In 1962 Sauze di Cesana was partly destroyed by a big fire. Nowadays Sauze Cesana is a small mountain village, with a strong economy, thanks partially to the development of the tourism.
The area includes tourist resorts, such as the modern residential building Grange Sises and the beautiful villages of Rolliers and Bessen Aut.
